Some accreditation bodies use self-assessment instead of external audits. They send you a self-assessment questionnaire, you fill it out, submit some evidence, and receive accreditation. Nice and simple. My reaction is: Why would anyone pay for such a survey? It’s like performing a self-administered digital rectal examination of your own prostate. You receive instructions, perform the examination, fill out the provided checklist, and send the results to the doctor or an AI chat bot. They issue a certificate stating that everything is fine. Of course, you pay for it. Don’t pay for something designed to take your money just to give you a sense of doing something. Remember, accreditation is a journey, not just an event.
